Born Sept. 10, 1912, in Snyder County, she was a daughter of the late H. Arthur and Dillie (Bickhart) Shaffer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Kerstetter, who died in 1987. Surviving are: four children, Thelma A. Teats and Lorraine E. Hockenbrock, both of Liverpool, Ronald A. Kerstetter of Millerstown and Richard P. Kerstetter of Richfield RD1; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Merlin and Norman Shaffer, and a great-granddaughter, who died at birth. Mrs. Kerstetter attended Freeburg High School. She was employed for 11 years in the housekeeping department of Susquehanna University until her retirement several years ago. She was a member of the Salem United Methodist church, but attended the Liverpool United Methodist, where she was a member of the United Methodist Church Women. She was also a member of the Liverpool Senior Citizens Center Golden Club, Liverpool Civic Club, Liverpool Ambulance League and Liverpool Fire Company Ladies Auxillary. The Funeral Service was held at the George P. Garman Funeral Home, 606 N. Front St., Liverpool with the Rev. Charles T. Tressler officiating. Interment was in Barner's Church Cemetery, Liverpool RD 2. PR Times, March 11, 1992 CLARENCE A. KERSTETTER Clarence A. "Slats" Kerstetter, 77, Liverpool RD1, Juniata County, died Wednesday, April 8, 1987 at Perry Village Convalescent Home, New Bloomfield. He was born April 6, 1910 in Liverpool RD1, Juniata County, a son of the late Ralph and Nettie (Hockenbroch) Kerstetter. His wife, Sadie A. (Shaffer) Kerstetter, whom he married on August 21, 1931, survives. Also surviving are: children, Mrs. John (Thelma) Teats and Mrs. Glenn (Lorraine) Hockenbrock, both of Liverpool, Richard P. Kerstetter of Richfield RD1, Ronald A. Kerstetter of Millerstown RD3; three sisters, Mrs. Charles (Thelma) Johnson of Ickesburg, Mrs. Carl (Dorothy) Leiter of Loganton, and Mrs. Warren (Geraldine) Barnes of Landisburg; six brothers, Lee Kerstetter of Dover, George Kerstetter of Landisburg, Alvin Kerstetter of Harrisburg, Herman Kerstetter of Selinsgrove, Robert Kerstetter of Hebron, Ohio, and James Kerstetter of Millersburg; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was employed at the former Phoenix Iron and Steel Corporation and then for a number of years, until retiring in 1975, he was employed at Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Liverpool RD1, former township supervisor for Susquehanna Township, Juniata County, member of the Liverpool Fire Company, Richfield Sportsmen's Association, and the National Rifle Association. Services were held at George P. Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, with the Rev. David E. Kemberling officiating. Interment was in Barner's Church Cemetery Liverpool RD1. Clipping
