KERSTETTER, Ralph E. Kerstetter, 84, of 26 North Eighth Street, Selinsgrove, died July 11 in his home. Mr. Kerstetter had been in ill health for two months. Born July 7, 1890, in Oriental, Juniata County, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Kerstetter. He was educated in the Juniata County schools. He once operated a huckster route in the area and in 1944 he began employment with the Pennsylvania Railroad in the Enola enginehouse. Mr. Kerstetter was first married to the former Nettie Mae Hockenbroch, who died in 1948. In 1955 he was married to the former Daisy Pearl Willow, Selinsgrove, who survives. He was the father of 16 children. Mr. Kerstetter was a member of the Liverpool United Methodist Church and Sunday School, and the Oriental POS of A. In addition to his widow, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Charles Johnson, of Ickesburg; Mrs. Carl Leiter of Loganton, and Mrs. Warren Barnes of Blaine; eight sons, Clarence A., of RD 1, Liverpool; Lee R., of Dover; George M., of New Cumberland; Ernest E., of Newport; Alvin L., of Harrisburg; Herman W., of Selinsgrove; Robert M., of Hebron, Ohio, and James H., of Millersburg; one step-daughter, Mrs. Max Stroh of Selinsgrove; one step-son, Robert Shaffer of Middleburg; 45 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and 34 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Miss Florence Kerstetter and Mrs.Kathryn Obert, both of Liverpool, and Mrs. Mary Zeiders, of Walbasso, Florida; and three brothers, Banks Kerstetter of Sarasota, Florida; Russell Kerstetter of Wooster, Ohio, and Chester Kerstetter of Harrisburg. Two daughters and three sons died before him. Funeral services were held Monday in the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool. The Rev. Celo V. Leitzel officiated. Burial was in the Barner's Cemeter, RD 1, Liverpool. Clipping 1974
