Democrat; Wednesday 4/04/1883 WILLIAM CLOUSER died in Bixler's mill at Markelville on last Saturday. He had been an inmate of the Poor House but had wandered off and was found in the hay in Martin Flickinger's stable, about a mile north of Markelville on Wednesday morning. He was in an almost famished condition, and would not or could not give his name or any account of himself. Some of the neighbors, however, recognized him and he was provided with food and taken to the mill-room. Dr. Shull was summoned, but his patient was beyond the reach of medicine. The Directors of the Poor were notified and the body of the poor unfortunate was removed for burial. He had been demented for years.
