  MRS. ELIZABETH ICKES,
  
  Mother of Dr. G. A. Ickes, of 2406 Broad avenue, this city, died at her 
  home in Newport yesterday at 8:40 o'clock p.m.  Mrs. Ickes was born at 
  Ickesburg, Perry county, in 1823, and was consequently in her seventy-
  sixth year.  Her maiden name was Elizabeth Kell.  Her husband, George 
  Ickles, died in April, 1886.  She is survived by five children, as 
  follows: Nicholas, of Butte, Ill.; Mrs. Susan Charlesworth, of 
  Americus, Kan.; Mrs. Martie Tungrich?, of Newport; Dr. Ickes, of this 
  city, and W. J. Ickes, of Ickesburg, Jessie B. W. Ickes, ex-secretary 
  of select council, and J. B. Ickes, of 718 Fourth avenue, are nephews 
  of the deceased.  Dr. Ickes left on day express for Newport, to attend 
  the funeral which will probably take place on Friday.  His wife has 
  been at the bedside of the deceased for several days.
