Stanley Light, 80, Liverpool RD1, died Thursday morning, May 9, 1991, at his home. Born in Oriental, March 11, 1911, he was the son of the late William Henry and Alice (Barner) Light. In 1930 he married the former Margaret Merle Murray. They were married 60 years. Mr. Light was educated at Prosperity School, Oriental. He was employed at Phoenix Iron and Steel Harrisburg plant until it closed in 1969 and was a self- employed farmer. He was of the Lutheran faith. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 925, Millerstown, and served as past governor of the lodge; and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 381, Newport; Scottish Rite Consistory, Harrisburg; and Liverpool Ambulance League. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Pauline Wright of Granger, Ind.; two foster sons, Robert Sarvis, at home, and Robert Yeingst of Sunbury; his twin sister, Dora M. Heckman of South Bend, Ind., and a sister, Ida L. Ortmann of Mishawaka, Ind.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was a father to 67 foster children since 1959. He was preceded in death by a son, Francis Light, who died in 1957; a great- granddaughter; two brothers, Herman Light and Francis Light; and two sisters, Mabel Fredericks and Blanche Parthemore. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the George P. Garman Funeral Home, 606 N. Front St., Liverpool, by the Rev. Ira L. Lingenfelter. Burial will be in Barner's Cemetery, Liverpool RD1. Visitors may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, where a Masonic service will be conducted at 8.
