Martin Motzer, a well known and highly respected citizen of Perry county, whose residence was near Andersonburg, died on Saturday last in the 78th year of his age. He was elected associate judge of Perry county on the "Know Nothing" ticket in 1854, but the following year identified himself with the republican party, of which he ever after remained a member. He was also the first superintendent of the soldiers' orphan school at Andersonburg and was connected with the institution until within a short time of its abandonment.
