    On Thursday, December 21, ex-Sheriff D. M. Rhinesmith was found dead 
  in his barn in Spring township.  Death was due to apoplexy.  He was 
  born in Blain, Perry county, December 31, 1831; kept hotel in that 
  town, in Landisburg and New Bloomfield, removing to the latter place in 
  1869.  In 1871 he was elected sheriff.  He is survived by his widow and 
  five children.
