Huntingdon, Pa., December 3. - The dead body of Homer B. Roth, a middle division freight brakeman, was found in the Juniata river, below the Vandevander bridge a short distance west of Mapleton, Friday morning, about 8 o'clock. The dead man's body was not mangled or bruised, save for a cut on the head which was evidently inflicted by striking a stone. The presumption is that Roth either fell, or was jolted off his train while passing over the bridge. Deceased belonged to Duncannon. He was about 30 years of age. His body was prepared for burial at this place and shipped east at 7.10 o'clock same evening. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Monday, December 4, 1899
