Strawser, 88, Liverpool LIVERPOOL – George Albert Strawser, 88, formerly of RR2 Millerstown, died at 7:22 p.m. Monday, May 19, 1997, at Nipple Convalescent Home, South Front Street, where he lived since Aug. 3, 1992. He was born May 2, 1909, in Perry County, a son of the late Edward and Mary Alice (Funk) Strawser. He married the former Ruth Evelyn Lyter on April 29, 1939. She died June 30, 1980. He was educated at Dry Sawmill Schoolhouse in Perry County. Mr. Strawser was a farmer and during the winter, did butchering for area people. He was an avid reader. Mr. Strawser was Protestant. He was the last of his immediate family. Surviving are one sister-in-law, Mary Strawser, of New Jersey; nieces; and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Benjamin and Elmer; and one sister, Emma Barner. The funeral will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday at the George P. Garman Funeral Home, 606 N. Front St., Liverpool, by the Rev. Peter H. Kuebler. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
