Death was attributed to a heart attack. He was born Dec. 11, 1909, in Liverpool Township, Perry County the son of the late Henry J. and Emma Elizabeth Funk Sweigart. He was united in marriage with the former Irene Charles on June 16, 1934. On March 31, 1953 he was married to the former Mary Coleman of Liverpool. Mr. Sweigart was employed as head sawyer for the Tyler Lumber Co., Selinsgrove RD 2. Mr. Sweigart was a member of the Barner's Lutheran Church and Sunday school, Liverpool RD 1; the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 925, Millerstown; Liverpool Fire Company; and the Liverpool ambulance league. Surviving him in addition to his wife are 12 daughters, Mary, wife of Chester Latchford, Harrisburg; Florence, wife of Joseph McAlister, Shermansdale; Mildred, wife of Carl Britcher and Barbara, wife of John Seiders, both of Newport; Emma, wife of Cloyd Wileman, Blain; Erma, wife of Kenneth Wileman, Carlisle; Evelyn, wife of Charles Goodling, of Liverpool; Betty, wife of Russell Schlief, Middleburg; and Judy, Bonnie, Joann and Tracy Sweigart all at home; three sons, Lewis George Sweigart, Newport and James and Samuel Sweigart, both at home; 19 grandchildren; two sisters, Mary, wife of George Spicher, Millerstown RD 2, and Mildred, wife of Albert Kantz, Selinsgrove RD 1; four brothers, Jacob Sweigart, Willow Grove, Harvey and John Sweigart, both of Liverpool RD 1, and Clayton Sweigart, Selinsgrove RD 1; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons in infancy, two sisters and three brothers. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Barner's Lutheran Church, Liverpool RD 1, with Rev. Kenneth Barner, pastor of Mt. Holly Springs United Methodist Church, officiating in the absence of Rev. Theodore Lindquist Jr. his pastor. Interment followed in Barner's Church Cemetery.
