"Big John" Sweigart, 46, Liverpool RD1, died Sunday at 2:45 p.m. while visiting a neighbor. Mr. Sweigart had been under the care of a physician after being released from Geisinger Medical Center Danville, last September. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Born March 9, 1927, a (sic) Liverpool RD1 he was the son of the late Harry J. and Emma Funk Sweigart. He received his education in the Perry County school system. Mr. Sweigart was a lumberman and did custom farming. For the last year and a half he was employed as an equipment operator for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Liverpool Fire Company; the Liverpool American Legion; Loyal Order of the Moose 1173, Selinsgrove, and the American Federation of State, County and municipal Employes (sic) Local 2137. Surviving him are two sisters, Mrs. George Spicher, Millerstown RD2, and Mrs. Albert Kantz, Selinsgrove RD3; two brothers, Jacob S. Sweigart, Willow Grove and Clayton L. Sweigart, Selinsgrove RD3. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. from the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool. The Rev. J. Kenneth Barner, pastor of Mount Holly Springs officiate. Burial will be in Barner's Church Cemetery, Liverpool RD1. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday evening.
