Witmer, 69, of Liverpool RD1, died Friday at 4:45 p.m. in the Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg where he was admitted several hours before. Death was due to a heart attack. Mr. Witmer was a graduate of Liverpool High School in 1930 and Central Penn Business School, Harrisburg. He was a farmer in the Liverpool area, retiring in 1973. He and his late brother, Ray operated the Witmer Brothers Coal, Feed and Grain Supply, Liverpool RD 1. He was a member of St. John's (Barner's) Lutheran Church, Liverpool RD1; Barner's Cemetery Association; a supervisor of the Liverpool Township Board Board (sic); Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors; and the Liverpool Fire Company. He was born in Liverpool RD1, July 26, 1911, a son of the late William Henry and Ida Alice Clemens Witmer. In 1938, she (sic) married the former Helen Marie Long, who survives. Surviving in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Mrs. Alan Gamble of Mechanicsburg; three sons, Rodney L. of Millerstown RD1, James A. of Liverpool RD1 and Dale E. of Palmyra; and five grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the George P. Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, by the Rev. Theodore L. Cockley. Burial will be in Barner's Church Cemetery, Liverpool RD1. Friends may call in the funeral home Sunday evening. Contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Building Fund, in care of Rev. Cockley, 1000 N. Front St., Liverpool. He and his brother operated Witmer Brothers Coal, Feed and Grain Supply near Liverpool for many years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Liverpool, R.D. 1, and was supervisor of Liverpool Township Road Board. He was a member of Barner's Cemetery Association, Liverpool Fire Company, the Men's Bowling League of Liverpool, and Pennsylvania Association of Township Supervisors. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Helen Long Witmer; a daughter, Mrs. Alan Gamble of Mechanicsburg; three sons, Rodney L. of Millerstown R.D. 1, and Dale E. of Palmyra, and five grandchildren. Services were held Monday at the funeral home at 606 N. Front Street, Liverpool, with the Rev. Theodore L. Cockley, his pastor, officiating. Burial was in Barner's Church Cemetery, Liverpool, R.D. 1.
