Stine, of Loysville, and J. Stewart Askins, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Askins, of New Bloomfield, was a military event in the Bethel Methodist Episcopal Church, Spartansburg, S. C., last Friday evening, at 6 o'clock, with the Rev. Walter I. Herbert officiating. The bride's gown was a beautiful combination of white net over pussywillow satin with a large picture hat to harmonize. Both the bride and bridegroom were unattended. Mr. and Mrs. Askins have many friends in Harrisburg where prior to her marriage, Mrs. Askins was a special stenographer in the office of Major Murdock, in the selective service head-quarters. Mr. Askins was formerly employed with the Johnston Paper Company before he entered the service as a musician in the Eighth Regiment band, now stationed at Camp Wadsworth. Both were active members of the Stevens Memorial Methodist Church, Mr. Askins being a member of the orchestra. They will reside for the present near Spartansburg.
