I, Nicholas Borrell, of the township of Toboyne in the county of Perry, and State of Pennsylvania, being very sick and weal in body but of sound mind and understanding (Blessed be God for the same) but considering the uncertainty of this Life, do make and publish this to be my last will and testament in the manner following (to wit), Principally and first of all I commend my immortal soul into the hands of God who gave it and My Body to the Earth, to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner, at the discretion of my Executors hereinafter named, and as to such worldly estate Wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life with I give and dispose of in the manner following. I will and bequeath unto my loving wife Susannah all the beds and bedding, all the Carpet and all the woolen yarn, the clock and chests, and also she is to have the front room down stairs and the front room upstairs her lifetime, and the girls which is now at home has the same privilege of the said rooms, also I allow my loving wife to her privilege in the cellar, the Spring house, also I bequeath to my loving wife the Brass Kettle and one small Mettle Kettle and all the household and kitchen furniture whatever is in the house. I also allow my loving wife her living and Maintenance off the farm now which she lives on, all kinds of grains, wheat, Rye, Bucket, corn, and a sufficiency of Meat, Coffee, tea and sugar To be found by the three boys, John, Jacob and Samuel Borrell, the boys is to prepare one quarter of an acre of ground for potatoes for my wife and two daughters, Peggy and Betsy Borrell, yearly as long as the girls is single. I also allow my loving wife the privilege of Whatever quantity ground she needs on the garden, she is also to have privilege of what apples she needs through summer and winter, I also allow her to have sown for her use one half bushel of Flaxseed yearly, I also allow my loving wife two cows out of my stock of her own choice and five sheep of her choice. I also allow my loving wife a young Brown Mare to be sold by her or the Executors to the best advantage for the use of my wife, it is also my will that my Executors nurse my wife, find her a Doctor when required by her. It is also my will that my Executors purchase a Stove out of my Estate to be for the use of my wife and to be kept in the front room before mentioned as long as she lives and my Executors is to find her a sufficiency of fire wood cut and delivered at her door and it is further my will that all the property now bequeathed to my wife, that at her death it is to be divided equally among my Six children. I also will and bequeath to my son John all the horses and farming utensils which he has in his possession. Now I also will and bequeath to my son Jacob the three Black horses and the colt which he claims. I will and bequeath unto my son Samuel the two sorrel horses and the colt which he claims. It is also my will that my sons Jacob and Samuel take all my personal property now on the farm (Except the Broad wheel wagon which they are to have use of amongst themselves, John, Jacob and Samuel). It is my will also, I will and bequeath unto my three sons, John and Jacob and Samuel the whole of my real estate which the said heirs is to pay out of said Estate five hundred dollars to be paid to my daughter Sally Bilman to be in three equal payments. I will and bequeath unto my daughter Peggy five hundred dollars to be paid_three equal payments. I will and bequeath unto my daughter Betsy five hundred dollars to be paid_three equal payments in the Manner following: on the [1st] day April 1837 one hundred and sixty-six Dollars, sixty-six 3/4 cents to be paid unto my daughter Sally Bilman; on the first day of April 1838, one hundred and sixty-six dollars, sixty-six 3/4 cents unto my daughter Peggy; on the first day of April 1839, one hundred and sixty-six dollars and sixty-six 3/4 cents unto my daughter Betsy. To be paid unto Sally Bilman in the year 1840, unto Peggy in the year 1841, unto Betsy in the year 1842; in the year1843 unto Sally, in the year 1844 to Peggy, in the year 1845 unto Betsy. It is also my will that my sons Jacob and Samuel work the farm for two years from April 1834 and to pay all my Just Debts. It is also my will that my two Daughters Peggy and Betsy shall have two cows, two Sheep, said to be given by Jacob and Samuel when called on by the Girls. It is also my will that my two daughters have as much household and kitchen furniture as my daughter Sally Billman got, out of my Estate found by my Executors. It is also my will that my Executors find pasture for the two Cows and five Sheep for my said wife within their Stock and feed for the same through the winter and stabling for them. It is also my will further that after the two Girls leaves their Mothers that the Executors find her in a Sufficiency of Potatoes and Cabbage and the like. It is also further my will that she shall have privilege to have the Sorrell mare when Required by my Said wife. It is further my will that my three sons shall have Equal shares in the said plantation and to pay Equal shares of the payments to the Girls and it is further my will that the three boys Divide or Sell amongst themselves as they think proper the said plantation. And lastly I nominate and appoint my sons John Borrell, Jacob Borrell, Samuel Borrell, Executors of this my Last Will, hereby revoking all other wills legacies and bequests by me heretofore made, and declaring this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament. Fisher Nesbit John Calhoun Perry County, S/S: This 24th day of October A.D. 1834 Personally appeared Before me John McKeehan, Esquire, Register for the Probate of Wills and Granting Letters of Administration in and for the County of Perry, Fisher Nisbet, Esquire and John Calhoun, the subscribing Witnesses to the within and foregoing Instrument of Writing purporting to be the Last [Will] and Testament of Nicholas Burrell late of Toboyne township, Perry County, deceased, Who being duly sworn according to Law, did depose and say that they were present and saw and heard the within named Testator Sign Seal publish pronounce and declare the within and foregoing instrument of writing as and for his testament and last will and that at the time of so doing he was of perfect and sound mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge, observation and belief. McKeehans, Register Perry County, S/S: Be it remembered that on the 24th day of October, A.D. 1834 Before me, John McKeehan, Esquire, Register for the probate of Wills and Granting Letters of Administration in and for the County of Perry, was proven the Last Will and Testament of Nicholas Burrell late of Toboyne township, Perry County, dec'd., in due form of Law and that Letters of Administration were on the same day Granted to John Burrell, Jacob Burrell and Samuel Burrell the Executors named in said Will, the said Executors sworn that they will well and truly administer the goods and chattels of said Testator according to Law and that they will diligently and faithfully Regard and will truly comply with the laws of this commonwealth relating to collateral inheritance.
