I Amos Wantz of Tusarora (sic) Township in the County of Perry and State of Pennsylvania being sick and Weak in body, but of Sound mind Memory and understanding and Considering the uncertainty of this life at best and to the end I May be better prepared to leave this world. Where it shall please God to Call Me home do therefore Made (sic) and declare this my last will and testament in Manner and form following (that is to say) First and principally I Command My Soul into the hands of God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors herein after named. Second I will that all my just debts together with my funeral expenses and all charges touching the ______ of this my will shall in the first place out of my Estate and effects be fully paid and satisfied. Third I will that all my property be sold and after my just debts are paid and if any money remain, my will is that it is to be put on interest. I wish that money to be equally divided between my two younger sisters Catharine and Ellen Wantz to be paid over to them at the age of Eighteen years or in case of sickness or necessity the said money to be put to their support. Should one survive the other my will is that the survivor shall recover? the deceased share. In case both of my sisters above named should die before the money is all exhausted, Then if my Brother Samuel Wantz yet survives I will to him the balance which he is to receive when he arrives at the age of twenty one years and to my father and Brother Samuel I leave all my clothes to be divided between them as they see fit. And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint Peter Latchford (Esq) to be the executor of this my last will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me heretofore made allowing this and no other to be my last will and testament. In Witness whereof I Amos Wantz the testator have to this my Will, Set my hand and Seal this Nineteenth day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Sixty three. Latchford Perry County, SS This 30th day of March AD 1863 Before me Sam'l Roath Register for the Probate of Wills Personally appeared Joseph Leonard and James P. Latchford the two Subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Instrument of Writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Amos Wantz late of Tuscarora township Perry County, Dec'd. Who after being both duly affirmed according to law do say that they were present and saw and herd (sic) the said testator Sign, Seal pronounce and declare the Said Instrument as and for his last will and testament and at the time of so doing he was of perfect sound mind memory & understanding to the best of their knowledge observation and belief.
