The Marriage Certificate in the Bible is completed and signed by the Rev. S. 
W. Crittenden of the First Presbyterian Church of Darby, called by him "The 
Darby Level Church," probably denoting its geographical location at 4th & Main 
Sts.
   "This is to certify that Mr. John Guest and MIss Eliza Ireland were 
solemnly united by me in the bonds of matrimony at Darby Level Church on the 
seventh day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and 
sixty-five conformably to the Ordinance of God and the Laws of the State.
Witnesses: John L. Davis; Mary E Waterson
Signed:  S.W. Crittenden, Clergyman"

Siblings of John Guest (all children of Richard Guest and his wife Jane 
Alexander, immigrants.  He from Lancaster, England, she from Northern 
Ireland.  Richard worked as a dyer in the mills of England, Philadelphia and 
finally Darby, PA:

The birth date of Eliza Ireland's mother is also noted:

Martha Slatten Guest married Joseph Henry Alburger (b. 02 Apr 1874  d. 17 Mar 
1947)  They were married at the home of Martha's parents on Ridge Ave., Darby, 
PA.

Rebecca Guest Alburger  b. 05 May 1899    d. 18 Sep 1956
Mildred Jane Alburger   b.  17 Apr 1906   d.  13 Sep 1990





Additional Comments:
This Bible is still in use, though it has passed out of the hands of "Guest 
descendants" because it has been given from mother to daughter in this family.
