(Duc) Duke was born in New York about 1902. He used his given name (Frank A. Duc) for his theater name and Frank A Duke for the census and legal records. His mother was French and his father French Canadian. He moved to Philadelphia and married Edna Kline. He had Francis Duke (son), who was originally named Frank Duke and later Charles Francis Duke. After he lost child custody in a divorce, he disappeared. His family is searching to find out what happened to him. During his time as a vaudeville actor, he performed with Welch's Minstrels. He performed at the Steel Pier (Young's Million Dollar Theatre)in Atlantic City, the Orpheum, and Keswick Theatres. There is also a review of a movie or theater performance for "Street of Chance," during the 1930's where his singing was commended by a columnist.
