Co., Pa. George Michael Weiss organized a Reformed congregation in Germantown ca. 1727. He was followed by John Peter Miller (1730-1731), John Bartolomew Rieger (1731-1734) and John Bechtel at various times between 1728 and 1744. In 1732 the land was purchased for construction of a church. By 1739 a church had been built. At the end of 1746, Michael Schlatter became pastor of Germantown congregation until 1750. He was followed by John Conrad Steiner (1750-1756), John William Stoy (1756-1758), who served in Germantown and Philadelphia, John George Alsentz (1758-1767), John Christopher Faber (1767-1768), Christian Friederich Faehring (1769-1772), J.C. Albert Helffenstein (1772-1776) of Mosbach in the Palatinate, Casper Wack (supply in 1776), Samuel Dubendorff (1777-1779), J. C. Albert Helffenstein (1779-1790 and L. Fredrick Herman (1790-1801). The register was a "large, leather bound folio volume, 12 x 8 1/4 inches in size, "containing 836 pages, many of which are blank.
