Brown buwbrown@comcast.net June 11, 2008, 7:19 am Arthur B. Turner, Assistant Manager, Dixon Educational Bureau, 1420 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, to J.A. Quay, Supt. of Western Pennsylvania Reform School, Morganza, Pa. Most likely candidate for your position of Relief Officer is Mr. William Love, 2020 Stillman Street, Philadelphia. He is a little under the age you mention, being in his 28th year, but he looks older. He is American born of Scotch parents, 5' 10 1/2" in height & weighs 160 pounds. Attends Presbyterian Church. Has had 2 years of experience in institution life, most of this time spent in Pennsylvania Institution for the Insane, 49th & Market Streets, Philadelphia. At present he is clerking in Partridge and Richardson's store, having left the institution to take this position. but he is not entirely satisfied & wishes to re-enter institution life. He has had experience in military drill. We have telephoned the Pennsylvania Hosital, & Dr. Phillips of this institution stated that Mr. Love is trustworthy, reliable, honest in every way; perfectly sober & gave entire satisfaction while he was with them.
