H.W. Pitkin, Augustus Thomas. Commission merchants and manufacturers' agents. Sole agents for Dean Woolen Co's army kerseys and cloths. Agents for Mt. Vernon Co. cotton sail, awning and tent; duck all widths, white and colored, paper makers' felts, etc. Agents for Tower's Fish Brand oiled clothing. (dictated by A.T. and signed by stamp "Pitkin & Thomas" in liquidation) Additional Comments: Letter dated March 20, 1889 has different stationery: Augustus Thomas & Co., successors to Pitkin & Thomas; same address. Augustus Thomas, general partner. Horace W. Pitkin, special partner. (Merchandise pretty much the same) Letter dated Nov. 2, 1894: Augustus Thomas & Co., successors to Pitkin & Thomas. Army and Navy uniforms, 225 Market Street, Philadelphia. Military cloths, arms and equipments, tents, camping blankets, etc. Flags - all kinds. Tower's oiled clothing, merchandise and wagon covers. Leather clothing.
