On this Sixth Day of January in the Year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Six 
Before me Benjamin Nones, Esquire, Notary Public for the Commonwealth  of 
Pennsylvania, duly commissioned and authorized by Law to administer Oaths and 
Affirmations, dwelling in the City of Philadelphia, personally came and 
appeared John Norris a native of the State of New York who being duly Sworn 
according to Law, on his solemn oath deposes and says that the Protection by 
him obtained from the Collectors of the Port of Philadelphia some time in the 
year 1803 was destroyed by an officer of the British Sloop of War Hornet who 
boarded the Schr. Nancy in the Port of Spain, Trinidad on board of which was 
this Deponent as a Seamen.
