Seaman’s Protection Certificate
William H. Schreiner
Port of Philadelphia
Dated 22 December 1822

Be it Known, That on this Day of   Decr.  One thousand eight hundred and  22  
Before me Nicholas Diehl, junior, Notary Public for the Commonwealth of 
Pennsylvania, by lawful authority duly commissioned and sworn, residing in the 
City of Philadelphia, in the said Commonwealth, and by law authorized to 
administer Oaths and Affirmations, personally appeared  William H. Schreiner  
who being  Sworn  according to law, on   his  solemn   Oath   did declare and 
say, that he    is a Native of Philadelphia in the State of Pennsylvania & a 
Citizen of the United States. He is aged seventeen years of the Height of five 
Feet eleven Inches has dark Complexion brown Hair hazel Eyes, a mole on his 
right cheek, a mole on each breast, two scars on his right hand, a scar on the 
outside of his left leg.

Jos. H. Schreiner being also sworn did declare and say that he is well acquainted 
with the above named Wm. H. Schreiner and verily believes that he was born in 
Philadelphia in the State of Pennsylvania.
