All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Ray Rhoads rhodoray@bellsouth.net July 11, 2010, 6:31 pm On this Seventeenth Day of June in the Year One Thousand Eight Hundred and Six Before me Benjamin Nones, Esquire, Notary Public of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, duly commissioned and authorized by Law to administer Oaths and Affirmations, dwelling in the City of Philadelphia, personally came Cato Shewbert a free Black man a Citizen of the United States of America, who being duly Sworn according to Law, on his solemn Oath doth declare and says, that he was born in the City of Philadelphia in the State of Pennsylvania in the said United States, and that he is Thirty two years of age, and desires of me the Notary aforesaid to describe his person, which I find to be of the height of five Feet One Inches, Black wooly Hair Dark Eyes, flat Nose, round Chin, long Face, and a free Black man, has two scars on his left leg & a scar occasiond by a scald on his right foot. I do further certify, That at the same Time came and appeared John Babtist a Citizen of the United States, who being also duly sworn did declare and say that he is well acquainted with Cato Shewbert and verily believes him to be born in the City of Philadl. in the State of Pennsyl.
