The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net *********************************************************************** City Archives, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Deed Book D-23 Page 435 Luke Morris & UX to Philip Winnemore This Indenture Made the seventeenth day of September in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Eighty two Between Luke Morris of the District of Southwark in the County of Philadelphia Merchant and Mary his Wife of the one part and Philip Winnemore of the City of Philadelphia Yeoman of the other part Witnesseth that the said Luke Morris and Mary his Wife for and in Consideration of the Sum of One hundred and thirty five pounds to them paid by the said Philip Winnemore at or before the sealing and Delivery hereof the Receipt whereof the said Luke Morris and Mary his Wife do hereby acknowledge and thereof Do Acquit and forever discharge the said Philip Winnemore his heirs and assigns Have Granted bargained sold release and Confirmed and by these presents Do Grant bargain sell release and Confirm unto the said Philip Winnemore his heirs and assigns A Certain Lot or piece of Ground Situate on the South side of South Street in the District of Southwark in the County aforesaid Containing in Breadth on South Street thirty feet and in Length or Depth thirty eight feet more or less Bounded on the East by Ground of the said Luke Morris intended to be granted to John Douglass on the South by Ground of late of Alexander Alexander deceased on the West by other Ground of the said Luke Morris intended to be granted to Robert Tempest and on the North by South Street aforesaid Together also with all and singular the Ways Alleys Buildings Improvements Rights Liberties Privileges Hereditaments and Appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the Reversions and Remainders Rents Issues and Profits thereof and all the Estate Right Title Interest Property Claim and Demand whatsoever of the said Luke Morris and Mary his Wife of in and to the same To have and to hold the said described Lot of Ground Hereditaments and Premises hereby granted or mentioned or intended so to be with all and singular the Appurtenances unto the said Philip Winnemore his heirs and assigns to the only proper Use and Behoof of the said Philip Winnemore his heirs and assigns forever Under the proportionable part of the Yearly Quit rent hereafter accruing And the said Luke Morris for himself his heirs Executors and Administrators Doth Covenant grant and agree to and with the said Philip Winnemore his heirs and assigns by these presents that he the said Luke Morris and his heirs the aforesaid Lot or piece of Ground Hereditaments and Premises hereby granted or mentioned or intended so to be with the Appurtenances unto the said Philip Winemore his heirs and assigns Against him the said Luke Morris and his heirs and against all and every other Person and Persons whatsoever lawfully Claiming or to Claim by from or under him them or any of them shall and will Warrant and forever Defend by these presents In Witness whereof the said Parties to these presents have hereunto Interchangeably set their hands and Seals Dated the Day and Year first above written.
