For the sum of $2,830, Thomas Winnemore conveys to Robert West… Two story brick messuage or Tenement as the same is now erected and built over a certain alley two feet eight inches wide and twenty seven feet deep which divides them from another messuage and lot late of John Berry deceased, brick kitchen and the lot of ground situate on the West side of Delaware Fourth Street between Spruce and Pine Streets in the city containing in breadth sixteen feet and in depth seventy feet – bounded northwards by the said messuage and lot late of John Berry deceased – eastward by Fourth Street and southwards and westward by grounds late of Israel Pemberton, deceased. These are the same premises which Jacob G. Tryon, Esq., Sheriff of the City and County of Philadelphia by virtue of legal process at the suit of George Sheed against Charles Leary did seize and take in execution as the Estate of the said Charles Leary by Deed Poll dated February 5, 1823, recorded in Book D., page 45 and also Deed Book JH, No. 7, page 659. Thomas Winnemore was to pay the yearly rent charge of six pounds to the heirs of Israel Pemberton, deceased. Together with the free use of two feet eight inches wide alley and liberty to maintain any building over the whole breadth of the alley, leaving a headway eight feet five inches under such building.
