RUSSELL Of Pennsylvania Phillip M. Russell applied for revolutionary pension while living in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, in 1717. He entered the service November 14, 1777 and was attached to the 2nd Virginia Regiment. He was discharged October 8, 1778, on account of deafness resulting from camp fever. He married Esther ___ in Philadelphia, Penn., November 1, 1776. After the revolution they moved to Richmond, Virginia, to reside. Phillip M. Russell died August 11, 1830 when he was ninety years of age. His widow, Esther Russell, drew a pension. She died July 26, 1846, aged 89 years. They had thirteen Children, the names given in the pension statements being: Samuel, born August 16, 1780; Moses Milton who served as an officer in the War of 1812 and had one son. Edmund J.; Rachel, born about 1797; Sarah, born about 1804; and Rebecca, born about 1795, who married David Nathans and in 1825 was a widow with two children.
