THOMPSON, a wealthy citizen of Phila., has given $125,000 to be used to provide a new building for the orphans to be named the James D. Thompson Memorial, and we have set aside $1,000 for the purpose of keeping his burial lot in order. We intend to purchase about five acres of ground in Germantown, where we will locate. We are at present caring for 51 children in the Home, among them Pearl and Reba SCHWENK, who were born in Reading. The former attends the Phila. High School, and is near the head of her classes at all times. Her ambition is to become a school teacher." Mrs. Schliescher has been a Director of the Home for a number of years and has charge of the sewing for the children.
