   CORNWELL.-The Late Suicide- We stated yesterday, in our notice of the suicide 
of HELEN M. CORNWELL, that the evidence before Coroner showed the unfortunate
woman to have been addicted to intemperance. Since yesterday, we have conversed
with a highly respectable le gentleman of this city, in whose family the deceased 
has taught music; they have known her thirty years, and they never knew her to be 
guilty of anything of this kind. On the contrary, her conduct has been exemplary, 
and for a long time before her marriage and since, she has moved in the most 
respectable circles, first as a companion, and finally, when reduced in 
circumstances, as a teach. Her maiden name was HELEN MARIA STEVENS, she was 
connect with respectable families in this city, and was a cultivated and 
accomplished woman. Her necessities and sensibilities led to the rash act which 
terminated her existence.
