Hinkson; Veteran Media Dentist Was 78 DR. GEORGE W. HINKSON, 78, 26 E. 3rd St., Media, who practiced dentistry in Media and Philadelphia for a half century, died Monday in the Smith Nursing Home, Media. Dr. HINKSON, who was inactive until he retired two years ago, suffered a broken hip several weeks ago in a fall. He was born in Booth's Corner and lived his entire life, in Delaware County. Most of his dental practice, however, was in Philadelphia where he maintained an office. He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Dental School. Civic Minded Dr. HINKSON during his more active years took a keen interest in local affairs and from 1922 to 1935 was a member of Media Borough Council, the last six years as president. In 1935 he made an unsuccessful bid for the Delaware County Board of Commissioners running in the primary as a candidate on the Republican Ticket. He was son of the late Mr. and Mrs. JOHN M. HINKSON, his mother having been a member of the BOOTH family which gave its name to Booth's Corner and Boothwyn. He was a member of George W. Bartram Lodge 298 F & AM and of Media Fire Co. Friends may call Tuesday evening at Patterson funeral home, Baltimore and Monroe, Media. Funeral services and burial will be private. Survivors include his wife, ADA M. YOUNG HINKSON and a son, DR.
