Mt Kessler moved from Pottstown 34 years ago. He had lived in the borough for about a year at 108 York street. He was born in Germany, the son of Rosalie and Gustave Kessler, and came to America as a young man. He was an engraver and operated his own business in Philadelphia. He had been in good health most of his life. He died a half hour after a heart attack Saturday. Besides his wife, a native of Pottstown, he is survived by two daughters, Margaret, wife of Robert T. Johnson, Roslyn; Elizabeth, wife of Frank Klauser, Philadelphia, three grandchildren, a brother, Fritz, and two sisters: Roshon, in the Russian zone of Germany, and Marie, wife of Hugo Halbich, Lynn, Mass. Funeral services will be held from a Philadelphia funeral home Wednesday at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Mt Zion's cemetery, Pottstown. Thursday morning, May 10, 1951, Pottstown, page 5: Funeral servies for Max D Kessler, Philadelphia, husband of Elizabeth (Savage) Kessler, who was born and reared in Pottstown, were held from a Germantown funeral home at 1 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Officiating was the Rev. John W Heslip, pastor of Dales' Memorial United Presbyterian church, Philadelphia.
