The Hannibal Journal, 29 July 1847
Joseph C. Neal, Esq. editor of "Neal's Saturday Gazette," and author 
of "Charcoal Sketches," died very suddenly at Philadelphia on the morning of 
the 18th inst. -- Union

There is a longer obit in The Hannibal Journal dated 5 August 1847.  The 
Hannibal Journal was published in Marion Co., MO.
