RITTENHOUSE.-On the morning of the 2d of August, after a long and painful illness, which he bore with Christian fortitude, Mr. PETER L. RITTENHOUSE, son of Godfrey and the late Mary Ann Rittenhouse, in the 25th year of his age. Dearest husband, thou hast left me, And thy loss I deeply feel, But 'tis God that hath bereft me, He can all our sorrows heal. No kisses drop upon our cheeks, Those lips are sealed to me. Dear Lord how could I give him up To anyone but thee? We saw his sufferings, heard his sighs, With throbbing hears and weeping eyes; But now he calmly sleeps at last. All pain, all grief, all suffering past. The relatives and friends of the family, also William Penn Lodge, No. 39, K. of P., are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, on Friday, the 5th inst., at 3 o'clock, P. M., from the residence of his father, Mr. Godfrey Rittenhouse, No. 2227 German- town ave. To proceed to Mechanics' Cemetery.
