THOMPSON, a veteran of the Civil War and a well-known resident of Falls of Schuylkill, died yesterday at his home, 4342 Ridge avenue, from general debility. He was born 78 years ago in Donegal, Ireland, and spent his early life in Scotland. He came to this country in 1849 and settled in Manayunk. When the Civil War broke out Mr. Thompson enlisted as a member of Captain John Dobson's company. He is survived by a wife (Margaret), seven children and seven grandchildren.
