WALLACE Former Journalist Succumbs to Brights Disease at Home of Son-in-Law Funeral services for George M. Wallace, former prominent journalist, who died last evening after being ill since last October, will be conducted tomorrow evening at the home of his son-in-law, Harry S. Pine, 476 Riverside Avenue, with whom he resided. The Rev. Ralph E. Urban, rector of All Saints Episcopal Church will officiate. Interment will be made privately Monday in Harley cemetery, Camden under the direction of Ivins & Taylor. Mr. Wallace was for many years a contributor to the mining sections of Philadelphia newspapers and until 15 months ago, resided in Camden. He then came here to live at the Pine home. While at Atlantic City, he was stricken and upon returning was taken to Mercer Hospital for treatment. His condition did not improve and he was taken to the Pine home. Death was due to Brights Disease, sup_____ by in___ties, he having been 71 years old. Mr. Wallace is survived by one brother W. Laughton Wallace of Los Angeles, Cal., and by daughters Mrs. Richard B. Bell of San Francisco, Cal., Mrs. John A. ?Roads? of Dover, Mrs. L. J. Jackson of Brooklyn, and Mrs. Pine and Miss Georgena M. Wallace of this city. _______________________________ DEATHS Saturday, May 12, 1917 In this city of the 11th inst., GEORGE M. WALLACE in the 75th year of his age. The relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the services at the residence of his son-in-law Harry S. Pine, 476 Riverside Avenue on Sunday evening at 7 o'clock. Interment private at Harleigh Cemetery, Camden N.J. on Monday. __________________________________ Monday, May 14, 1917 George M. Wallace Funeral services for George M. Wallace, who died last Friday, were concluded last evening at the home of his son-in-law Harry S. Pine, 476 Riverside Avenue. The Rev. Ralph E. Urban, rector of All Saints Episcopal Church officiated. The body was forwarded to Camden this morning for burial in the Harley cemetery in that city. Ivins & Taylor had charge. Additional Comments: George M. Wallace was born in September 1842 in the Southwark section of Philadelphia, the son of John Wallace of Scotland and Ellen West of Ireland. In 1867, in Philadelphia, he married Clara St. Helen Laughton, a native of England. George and Clara had 3 daughters born in Philadelphia. By 1880 they had relocated to Camden, NJ where they had 3 more children. By 1917 George was residing in Trenton where he passed away. The notation in his obituary that he was survived by one brother named W. Laughton Wallace was an error. William Laughton Wallace was the deceasewd SON, not his brother.
