All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Dan Lindley danoh19344@hotmail.com November 10, 2005, 9:28 am Daily Local News, March 20, 1914 Daily Local News March 20, 1914 Robert Williamson Robert, son of the late Robert Barclay and Susan Williamson, former residents of Phoenixville, died at his home, no. 1937 Dennie Street, Nicetown, Philadelphia, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, from enlargement of the heart. The deceased was about fifty years old. He was a former policeman of this place, being appointed in April 1889, by the Borough Council. Detective John J. Carter, was appointed at the same time. The deceased was a fine specimen of manhood and while on the police force weighed over 200 pounds and was over six feet in height. He was born and raised in the borough and was highly respected by all, having a good natured, jovial disposition. He was married to Miss Annie Buckley, a cousin of Squire John J. Buckley, of the North side, Phoenixville. The only survivor of the immediate family is Mrs. Rebecca Peterson, residing in Pittsburgh, but now sojourning in Tampa, Florida, with her husband. The father Robert Barclay Williamson was one of the old members of the Phoenix Military Band, under the leadership of John G. Moses, now of West Chester. Robert Barclay Williamson was born in the old family residence, opposite the Village Record office, in West Chester, and was a member of the old West Chester Band.
