academic degree. The omission of it indicates that the degree was given by the
Jefferson Medical College.

    A star (*) after a name denotes that the individual is deceased. In every
case in which the year of the decease is known it is indicated at the right.

    When an address appears in parentheses it denotes that it is the last known
address.
