I John Branson of the Twentieth Ward in the City of Philadelphia, Inn Keeper being weak in body but of sound mind and disposing memory do make and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills or bequests heretofore made or declared. First. I will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid and satisfied as soon after my decease as conveniently can be. Item. I give and bequeath to my son Henry Branson the seal which is attached to the said chain. Item. I give and bequeath to my son John Branson my watch & chain. Item. I give and bequeath to my son George Branson my gun. Item. I give and bequeath to Emma Jayne the photograph likeness of myself and wife. Item. I give and bequeath to my son Theodore, my craon likeness. Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Sarah Branson all my real estate and personal property not heretofore bequeathed of whatever kind and wheresoever situate for her own separate use during her natural life and at her death the same to be sold at private or public sale as may be deemed advisable and the proceeds of such sale to be divided between my children and Amanda Gilbert, daughter of my sister Mary Gilbert, share and share alike. And now I nominate and appoint my beloved wife Sarah Branson Executrix of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Eighteenth day of July one thousand eight hundred and sixty five. Lacy City and County of Philadelphia Registers Office Aug.25th, 1865 Then Personally appeared P. Hinkle Jr. and P. B. Lacy the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing last will of John Branson deceased and on their solemn oaths did say that they were present and did see and hear John Branson deceased the testator therein named sign seal publish and declare the same as and for his last will and testament and that at the doing thereof he was of sound disposing mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief. Sworn & Subscribed P. B. Lacy Before me the date above P. Hinkle Jr. Sam’l Lloyd Dep. Register City & County of Philadelphia Registers Office Aug. 25, 1865 I do swear that as the executor of the foregoing last will and testament of John Branson deceased I will well and truly administer the goods and chattels rights and credits of said deceased agreeably to law and that I will comply with the provisions of the law relating to collateral inheritance.
