Spellings of words were transcribed as written) In the name of God, Amen. I Steven Brown of Uper Dublin Township in the County of Philadelphia and province of Pensyvania, Mason, being of perfect mind and memory, but knowing the mortality of my body and sole(?), it is apointed for all morvance(?) tody(?) do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament and principaly and first of all recommend my soul to God that gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried in a Christian maner at the discresion of my Executor and as touching such worldly goods and am blest within this life, I devise and dispose of the following manner and form and first of all _____(?) I allow all my just debts and funeral charges to be fully paid and discharges. Item, I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife, Jean, all that tract of land whereon I now live situate in Uper Dublin Township in the County of Philadelphia bounded by land of John Man, Sr., by the Welsh tract hence partly by land of John Man, Jr. and partly by land of Elis Lewis there by land of Hanna Walton thence partly by land of Mical Trump and partly by land of John Trump, Jr. and partly by land of James McCrory in all 85 acres, the same more or less to her, her heirs and assigns forever. Likewise I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife, Jean, all my cash bills, binds, book debts, goods, and chattles and my whatch(?) peresonal estate to her, her heirs and assigns forever, and I appoint and ordain my loving wife to be my sole heir and executor of this my Last Will and Testament, and I do hereby utterly revoke and dissanul all former wills or legacys by me made or names ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament. Dated October 21, 1776. Signed: Steven Brown Signed, sealed, published, pronounced and declared by the said Steven Brown to be his Last Will and Testament. John Mann, Jr. and John Mann, Sr., two of the witnesses to the foregoing Will and on oath did declare that they saw and heard Stephen Brown, the Testator, therein named, sign, seal, publish and declarethe same Will for and as his Last Will and Testament, and that at the execution thereof he was of sound disposing mind, memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief forum(?)
