QRYTEXT: Martin Kalb's Last Will and Testament....April 16, 1770

In the name of God Amen, I Martin Calb of Limerick Township in the county of
Philadelphia Yeoman, being weak in body but of perfect sound mind, memory
and understanding. Thanks be given to God therefore I do make this my last
will and testament. That is to say principally and first of all
I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that gaveth it and my
body precommend it to the earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent
manner at of my ExecÕs, herein after named and as touching such worldly
estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life.

I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner form this my
will and I do order that all my just debts and my funeral charges be paid
and satisfied them.

I give devise and bequeath unto my son Adam Calb all my Tenement plantation
and most of land whereon I now dwell containing about 150 acres of land to
be held and enjoyed by his heirs and assigns forever together with my wagon
and two horses and gears, foosy horses and one plow with the grons and
amberhain and one harrow for and in consideration of two
hundred pounds current lawful money of Pennsylvania which consideration I do
fully hereby acknowledge to already be received by me in full.

Then I give and devise all the residue of my goods and cattles, debts and
credits to my four children; Andrew Calb, John Calb and Jacob Calb and my
daughter Barbara, wife of Ludwig Shuitt, only excepting my funeral charges
and the cost of proving my will to be first deducted and then the remainder
to be equally divided share and share alike and I do nominate, constitute
and approve my son Adam Calb and my son in law Ludwig Shuitter joint exec.
of this my last will and testament and I do hereby disallow evoke
and disannul all and every other former wills ratifying and confirming this
and no other to be my last will and testament.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the sixteenth day
of April in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and seventy
Martin signed the letter M as his mark.

Philadelphia March 29, 1775 personally appears George Richner and George
Evans Jun, two of the witnesses to the foregoing Will and on Oath did
declare that they saw and heard Martin Calb the Testator herein named sign
seal publish and declare the same Will foresaid last will and testament and
that at the Execution hereof he was of sound disposing mind memory and
understanding to the best of their knowledge and belief.
