In the Name of God Amen I John Isaac Klein of Lower Salford Township in the County of Philadelphia in the Province of Pennsylvania Yeoman being far advanced in Years and weakly in body but of sound Mind Memory and Understanding do this Twenty third day of August A. D. One thousand ƒeven hundred and Seventy three make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner following that is to say First I recomend my Soul in the hands if my Creator and my Body to the Earth to be decently buried at the Discretion of my Executors And as for my Worldly Goods and Effects wherewith it that hath pleased God to bleƒs in this Life I give and dispose the same in Manner following First I will that all my Just Debts funeral Charges with the Probate hereof be duly Paid ƒatisfied and paid out of my whole Estate by my hereunto named Executors Secondly I give and devise unto my beloved Wife Sybilla all my Plate and houshold Goods whatsoever I shal leave behind me together with my log Cannon Stove I likewise give unto her the House and Lot of Ground where I now live on with all its appurtenances Rights and Priviledges that I had while I was living but if She should marry again She must move away and leave it but the said Stove She is to take with her I likewise give unto her the Sum of Twenty Pounds lawful Money of Pennsylvania to be paid to her within Six Weeks after my decease I Likewise give unto her the Sum of Twenty four Pounds like Money to be paid to her Yearly during her Life on the Twenty Seventh day of November the first payment whereof to begin on the Twenty Seventh day of November next after my decease but in Case she should marry again She shal only have the Sum of Twelve Pounds Yearly paid as aforesaid Item I give and devise to the dutch Society in Philadelphia to the Managers for the time being the Sum of Ten Pounds Money aforesaid to be applied to the poor and Needy under their Care I likewise give and devise to the dutch Lutheran Church in Upper Salford Township the Sum of Five Pounds like Money to and for the use of the said Church I also give and devise unto my herein named Executors the Sum of Eighty Pounds like Money which shal be in full for their Trouble and Expenses in transacting and managing my said Estate And as for and concerning all the remainder part and residue? of my whole Estate I do give devise and dispose the same in Manner following that is to say One full Eight part thereof I do give and devise out of such Eighth part, one whole half part thereof to my Son John and the other Mojity or half part thereof I give to my Son John’s Children begotten by his first Wife, named Jacob, John, Ann Mary, and Salome to Each of them a like Shear, and if any of the said Children should happen to Die under age and without lawful Iƒsue then I give the Share of such so dying to them so living Share alike the said children’s part shal all be paid to them within one Year after my decease And whatsoever my said Son John do owe to me at the time of my decease I will that he shal pay to my said Executors within one year after my decease who shal allow him the Interest for one Year ??????? I likewise give and devise unto my Son George Klein one other full Eighth part of my said Estate I likewise give and devise unto my Son Jacob Klein one other full Eighth part of my Estate I likewise give and devise unto my Son Richard Klein one other full Eighth part of my Estate I likewise give and devise unto my Son Gabriel Klein one other full Eighth part of my said Estate I likewise give and devise unto my Son in Law Leonard Melchior and to his Wife Ann Mary my daughter one other full Eighth part of my said Estate And as for and concerning one other full Eighth part thereof I give and? devise out of such Eighth part unto my daughter Ann Margaret now wife of Jacob Button a certain sum of One hundred and five Pounds (with its interest) due to me And the Remainder of the said Eighth part I give unto all the Children of my said Daughter Margaret to be equaly divided among them and if any of the said Children should happen to die under Age and without lawful Iƒsue I give such their part ?? dying to them so living Shear alike And I will that Each of them shal be paid their Share as they come of Age without Interest but my said Daughter Margaret shal receive and have Yearly the yearly Interest encruing on the said Children’s Money for her Use during her Life and after her decease to the use of her said Children And as for and concerning one other full and equal Eighth part it being the last I do? give out of such part unto my Daughter Ann Sybilla the Wife of John Yerger the Sum of Fifty Pounds to be paid to her within one Year after my decease and the remainder of such Eighth part to be put on Interest ??? also the Children’s Money of my said Daughter Margaret I give and deviƒe to all the Children of my said Daughter Ann Sybilla to be equally divided among them and each their part shal be paid as they become of Age and the Yearly Interest of all such their Shares shal Yearly be paid unto my said daughter Ann Sybilla for her use during her life and after her Decease to the use of her Children I further do desire? of my hereunder named Executors that they shal well and sufficiently secure all such legacies and Sums of Money to my above said grand Children and others herein named and each of them their respective receipts or discharge shal be a sufficient Discharge or Discharges to my said Executors until the services of them And I do hereby appoint and nominate and Constitute my trusty Son in Law Leonard Melchior and my son George Klein to be my whole and Sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament And lastly I do hereby disanul and make void all my former Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made and acknowledge this present Writing only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said John Isaac Klein have hereunto set my own hand and Seal the day and year first above written Jhn Isaac Kline {seal} Signed Sealed published and declared by the said John Isaac Kline as his last Will and Testament in the presence of the Subscribers as Witneƒses thereunto Note the words on the first page (during her life) and on this page (Yearly) was interlined before the Signing hereof Peter Stang frederick? Melchior Wagener Philada December 7th 1774 Personally appeared Frederick Dickensheath and Melchior Waggener two of the Witneƒses to the forgoing Will and the said Frederick Dickensheath on Oath & the said Melchior Waggener on his ƒolemn affirmation according to Law did respectively declare that they saw and heard John Isaac Klein the Testator therein? named Sign Seal publish and declare the same Will for and as his last Will and Testament and? that at the Execution thereof he was of Sound deposing Mind Memory and Understanding to the best of their Knowledge and Beleif Coram Benjamin Chew Regr Genl Be it remembered That on the 7th day of December 1774 The Last Will and Testament of John Isaac Klein deceased in due Form of Law was proved and Probate and Letters Testamentary were granted to Leonard Melchior and George Klein Executors in the said Will named being first duly sworn well and truly to administer the said deceased’s Estate and bring an Inventory thereof into the Register Generals Office at Philadelphia on or before the 7th day of January next and render a true and just Account of the said administration on or before the 7th day of December 1775 or when thereto legally required Given under the Seal of said Office.
