that on the Seventh Day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and seventy Eight Peter Matson of Uper[sic] Merrion[sic] in the County of Philada and Province of Pennsylvania being sick in Body but of perfect sound and Disposing mind and Memory thanks be given to Almighty God herefore Remembering my latter end and that it is appointed for all men once to Die do make and ordain this my last Well and Testament in manner Following, First I Will and order that all my Just Debts and Funeral Charges be out of my Personal Estate fully paid and Discharged immediately after my Decease Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Dearly Beloved Wife Ann all such of my Household Goods and Furniture as she shall think fit to choose and the Room at the Easterly end of my house where I now live and a Room over the same up one pair of Stares[sic] and the Room in the Cellar under the same during her Natural life with uninterupted[sic] liberty to go to and from the same together with her choise[sic] of one Cow and three sheep and I further Order that my Executors place out Two Hundred and seventy five pounds out of my Personal Estate immediately after my Decease on good security for her use and pay all the yearly Interest thereof yearly to my sd Wife as long as she shall live and I also give her full power to Distribute the said Two Hundred and seventy five pounds and all her Goods by her Will among all our Children and Their Heirs, But if she should chance to Die Intestate then I Will and Order the sd Two Hundred and seventy five pounds together with the Remainder of her Personal Estate to be Equally Divided amongst all our Children and their Heirs Share & Share alike, and I also Will and Order my Executors to pay her my sd Wife the further Sum of Twenty Five pounds immediately after my Decease to support her until her Interest becomes Due-------------- Item I Give and Devise to my Eldest son Isaac all my Upper Plantation containing One Hundred and twenty five acres of Land be the same more or less Being the Plantation which I purchased from Henry Pauling Together with all the Buildings and Improvements thereon New page And appurtenances thereunto belonging to hold to him my sd Son Isaac Matson his Heirs and Assigns for ever and I Will and Order my sd son Isaac to give his Mother out of the same yearly and every year during her Natural life four Busshels[sic] of Wheat and half a good Beef for her own use----------------- Item I Give and Devise unto my second Son Peter Matson all my Containing One hundred Seventy eight Acre more or less Plantation wheron[sic] I now Dwell ^[Containing One hundred &seventy Eight Acre more or less] together with all Buildings and Improvements thereon and Appurtenances thereunto belonging to hold to him my sd son Peter Matson his Heirs and Assigns for- ever. and I further Will and Order that he my said son Peter Shall give to his Mother out of the same yearly and Every year During her Natural Life Eight Bushels of Wheat and one Good Hog ready fated[sic] and sufficient Quantity of Fire wood Cut and Hawled[sic] Suitable to her Chimney, And I further Will and Order that he my said son Shall pay out of the Above mentioned legacy or estate the sum of One Hundred pounds to go towards paying my Daughters Legacy's herein after mentioned within One year after my Decease and likewise to pay to his Sister Esther the sum of Ten pounds when she attains to age--- or in One year after my Decease-------------- Item I Give and Bequeath to my Eldest Daughter Anna the Wife of Elias James the sum of One Hundred and Seventy five pounds Including what the said Elias James is Indebted to me-------------- Item I Give and Bequeath to my second Daughter Mary Oneal the Like sum of One Hundred and Seventy five pounds Including what The sd Oneal is Indebted to me--------------- Item I Give and Bequeath to my third Daughter Hannah Daugherty The like sum of One Hundred and seventy five pounds Including what the sd Daugherty is Indebted to me------------ Item I give and Bequeath to my fourth Daughter Elizabeth Rambo The New page The like sum of On[sic]Hundred and seventy five pounds Including what the sd Rambo is indebted to me-------------- Item I Give and Bequeath to my fifth Daughter Ann Mash the like sum of One Hundred and seventy five pounds Including what the sd Marsh is Indebted to me--------------- Item I Give and Bequeath to my Sixth and Youngest Daughter the like sum of One Hundrd and seventy five pounds Excluding the Above mentioned Ten pounds which my son Peter is Ordered to pay her----- Item I Further Wil and Order that all the Residue of my Personal Estate after The sd Legacies are paid off shall be Equally Divided Between my Wife and all my Children and their Heirs Share & Share Alike------------------ Lastly I Nominate constitute and Appoint my Well Esteemed Friend Nathan Potts with my son Peter Matson to be my Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making Void all other Wills Testaments Legacies & exors by me at any time Willed or Bequeathed. Ratifying and Confirming this Only to be my last Will & Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above Writen[sic] Signed Sealed Published & Declared By Peter Matson the Testor as and Peter Matson for his last Will and Testment[sic] in the proved 16 Decemb 1778 presence of us the subscribers.
