Item. I give $1000 in trust for my niece Eliza Thomas who resides with me. Item. The rest to be divided into five equal parts: Daughter Eliza Elliott w/o Isaac; Son Charles J. Thomas; son Joseph M. Thomas; daughter Mary Ann Jewell; caughter Lucretia E. Carr wife of William Hart Carr. Sons Charles J. and Joseph M. and son-in-law Isaac Elliott executors. Written 11/30/1852, proved Oct 26 1854. Witnesses Thomas F. G. Cooper and Charles Hart. Will of Charles J. Thomas of Philadelphia, written May 26 1871, proved Sept. 25 1871. I give my wife Ann M. Thomas my dwelling house and lot of ground #1728 Mt. Vernon St. where we now reside, and all furniture. Divide estate into eight parts, one to son James M. Thomas; one in trust for three daughters of my deceased son Joseph Mather Thomas: Mary, Josephine, and Ann M. Thomas; one to son Charles J. Thomas Jr.; one to daughter Ann J. Cousty wife of Joshua H. Cousty; one to son William H. Thomas; one to daughter Mary T. Mason wife of Richard S. Mason; one to son Elliott Thomas; one to daughter Sallie S. Yerkes wife of Albert J. Yerkes. Thomas (in their minority); three daughters of deceased son Joseph Mather Thomas Jr. - Mary, Ann M., and Josephine; son Charles J. Thomas Jr.; daughter Ann J. Cousty and husband; son William H.
