In the name of God Amen, the Sixth day of February in the year of our Lord Anno Domini 1753, I Nicholas Tucker of the Mannor of Moorland in the County of Philadelphia and Province of Pennsylvania, Yeoman being sick and weak in body, but of sound mind and memory thanks be given to God: Therefore, calling to mind the mortallity of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to dye, do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament, that is to say Principally and first of all I recommend my soul ------ of God who gave it, and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buryed in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting; but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Mighty power of God. And as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God, to bless me in this life after my just debts and funeral charges are paid, I give devise and dispose of the same in the following maner and form. Imprimis-I give and bequeath to Mary Tucker, my well beloved wife, all my estate both real and personal (to her, her heirs and assigns forever) excepting what I shall hereafter devise in this my Last Will and Testament. That is to say; if my estate proves to be more than what will comfortably maintain my said beloved wife during the term of her natural life then and in that case I give and devise as follows. Imprimis-I give and bequeath to Peter Peterson Vanhorn of Bybury in the County of Philadelphia the sum of Five pounds of good and lawful money of Pennsylvania to be paid to him after my said wife's decease Item-I give and bequeath to George Eaton, Senior of Lower Dublin in the said County of Philadelphia the sum of Five pounds of like Lawful money to be paid t him after my said wife's decease Item-I give and bequeath to Stephen Gordin of the Mannor of Moorland in the said County of Philadelphia the sum of Three pounds of like Lawful money to be paid to him after my said wife's decease Item-I give and bequeath to John Brooks of Southamton in the County of Bucks; being a son of John Brooks, deceased, the sum of Five pounds like Lawful money to be paid to him after my said wife's decease Item-I give and bequeath to Thomas Brooks of Bybury in the County of Philadelphia likewise a son of the said John Brooks, deceased, the sum of Five pounds of like Lawful money to be paid to him after my said wife's decease Item-I give and bequeath to Humphrey Brooks, likewise a son of the said John Brooks, late of Southamton, deceased, the sum of Five pounds of like Lawful money to be paid to him after my said wife's decease Item-I give and bequeath to Mary Brooks, widow of the said John Brooks, deceased of Southamton in the County of Bucks, the sum Two pounds Ten shillings of like lawful money to be paid to her after my said wife's decease Item-I give and bequeath to Hannah Brooks, daughter of said John Brooks of Southamton and County of Bucks, the sum of Five pounds of like Lawful money to be paid to her after my said wife's decease Item-I give and bequeath to Rebecca Kelly, daughter of -------- Kelly of the Mannor of Moorland in the County of Philadelphia the sum of Five pounds of like Lawful money to be paid to her after my said wife's decease Item-I give and bequeath to Joshua Jones of the Mannor of Moorland in the County of Philadelphia, the sum of Five pounds of like Lawful money to be paid to him after my said wife's decease. And I do hereby constitute make and ordain my said well beloved wife, Mary Tucker and my trusty friend, Joshua Jones before last mentioned, the executors of this my last Will and Testament. And do hereby empower them or the survivor of them to sell and a good and Lawful Title to make to any land or lands hereditaments or appurtenances that I am Lawfully seized of. And I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former Testaments Wills Legacies and Bequeaths and Executors by in any way named willed and bequeathed, ratyfying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness, whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written. Signed Sealed Published Pronounced and declared by the said Nicholas Tucker as his last will and testament Nicholas Tucker in the presence of us the subscribers with the word Jones enterlined between the tenth and eleventh lines from the bottom-- Nathaniel Brittin Abel Walton John Keen I, Nicholas Tucker having given by my will bearing date the Sixth of February Anno Domini 1753 to Stephen Gordin the sum of Three pounds, now I revoke that Legacy and only instead thereof, I give him one shilling and I ratify and confirm all other parts of my will and desire this may be deemed as a codicil to my will. Witness my hand and seal this 14th day of April 1753 Signed Sealed Published and declared by Nicholas Tucker for and as a codicil or action to his will in the presence of us-- Nathaniel Brittin Abel Walton Philadelphia 28 May 1753 then personally appeared Nathaniel Brittin, Abel Walton and John Keen, witnesses to the foregoing will and the said Nath'l Brittin and John Keen on oath and the said Abel Walton on his solemn affirmation according to law did respectively declare and affirm they saw the said Nicholas Tucker, the testator therein named Sign Seal Publish and Declare the same Will for and as his Last Will and Testament and that at the doing thereof he was of sound mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge. Also at the same time the said Nathaniel Brittin and Abel Walton witnessed the Codicil by said Will made and subjoined on their respective qualifications aforesaid did declare and affirm they saw and heard Nicholas Tucker the Testator therein ------------ ------------ publish and declare of same codicil as a codicil and part of his Last Will and Testament and that at the said doing thereof he was of sound mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge.
