KUHNS & KEENY CEMETERY
Located on the WEBBER farm, in the Sopes Valley about 
south of Pine Grove in Pine Grove Twp, Schuylkill County, Pa
Inscriptions were coppied on Oct.17th 1937 by Wm H.Dietrich
Unger Collection #545- Frankliln and Marshall College
The following are on White Marble, along the West side, ending at the 
North West corner of the plot.

den 30 den Detsember 1852/ ist ald werden 78 jore 5 monet 2 tages,/ Text Philip, 4 Co.23 Vs./

Here ruget/ CATHERINA KUNS/ Gegotin Von MARTIN KUNS, geborne Otter,/ se wert goboren 
den 26 Jenner 1796 / und storb/den 25 den November 1866/ist ald werden 59 Jore 9 monets 
und 30 tage./ Text Johannes 16 Co. 16 Vs./

MARTIN KUNS/ geboren den8 den Juny 1796 /und storb den 1 den October 1866/ist ald werden 
70 jore 4 monet und 23 tage./

About the North East corner are strewn on the ground 4 whle marble of small sice with 
the following inscriptions.

( Starting at the South West corner along the West side are the following )
On a rough gray sandstone. / 1856/ R. W. / 66 years. 5 months. 10 days.
The following are on white marble.

Aaron Keeny/ s/o Peter and Kate Keeny/ born Jan 28,1845- died Apr. 25,1863/ 8 yrs. 6 mo 
and 13 da.

William Keeny/ s/o / Peter and Kate Keeny/ born Jan 28 1846 -died Dec. 16,1869/ 
age 23 yrs.10 mo. and 18 da.

Kate Keeny/ wife of Peter Keeny/ born June 12, 1813/ died Jan 3. 1866 
age 52 yrs. 6mo.& 21 da.

Peter Keeny/ born Jan. 7,1813- died Sept 28,1890/ 77 yrs 8 mo and 21 da.

About the south east corner are strewn on the ground 4 small white Marble containing 
the follow initials
A..K. W.K. P.K. K.K.

There are also strewn on the plot about 8 rough field stones which at one time evidently 
marked Graves, the plot from North to South measures about 30 ft. and from East to West 
about 18ft. there is evidence that the plot at one time had been fenced in.
