BRAZUS, son of Matthew Brazusky of 217 Belmont Street, Shenandoah, PA. Was drafted into the U.S. Army in Shenandoah on May 14, 1918 at age 23. He served with the A.E.F. (American Expeditionary Forces?) from August 3, 1918 to July 27, 1919. Joined the Army of Occupation December 3, 1918. He fought in Europe with Company A of the 39th Infantry in the St. Mehiel Offensive, the Meuse Argonne Offensive and the Toulon Sector. He was Honorably Discharged on August 2, 1919 with rank of Private First Class. Here is an interesting remark appearing on his enlistment record regarding his final discharge pay and travel home voucher. "Paid in full $103.09, including Bonus Pay of $35.00". 'Entitled to reduced rates to Shenandoah, Pa. (from Camp Dix, N.J.) as per affidavit".
