The highlight of the program was the presence and address of Bishop A. W. Cooper, Bishop of the Evangelical Congregational Church. Bishop Cooper, who at one time was a pastor of the local church, delivered an impressive address, appropriate to the occasion. For the theme of his discourse, the speaker used "Rally to the Study of the Bible; Rally to the Church; and the Rally of the Soul to Christ." The service was opened with the singing of the hymn, "Praise Him, Praise Him!" after the musical prelude by the school orchestra. Words of welcome were spoken by the pastor of the church, Rev. Kenneth R. Maurer.
