MISS POLLARD CLASS HAS SUPPER MEETING The monthly meeting of the Miss Annie POLLARD class of the Methodist Sunday School was held at the church on Wednesday night. it was in the form of a covered dish supper. The table was atractively decorated in keeping with the approaching Valentine’s Day, red and white being the color scheme. Those present were: Mrs. Geo. HOUSER, Mrs. J.G. KRAMER, Miss Marian E. RIGG, Mrs. Phoebe KOHR, Mrs. Edw. F. MARBURGER. NIADNA-STEPANSKI WEDDING AT CUMBOLA The marriage of Miss Martha STEPANSKI of New Phila., and Jos. NIADNA, Jr., of Middleport, took place Jan. 19 at St. Anthony’s Church, Cumbola. The attendants wee: Miss Wanda STEPANSKI, a sister of the bride, as maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Misses Marie LUTKUS and Matilda RUTKA. John NIADNA, a brother of the bridegroom, was the best man and the ushers were, Edward PETROBITCH, and Jos. TIHANCHY. The bride is a graduate of the St. Anthony’s Parochial School and of the Blythe Twp. High School. The bridegroom is a graudate of the same schools and is employed in Tamaqua. The couple will leave for New York Monday morning and ontheir return will make their home with the bride’s parents at 22o Valley St., New Phila. BADLY HURT IN BOOTLEG MINE Wm. MOTLEY, 37, of Pottsville, R.D. No. 2, is in critical condition in the Good Samaritan Hospital as the result of a fall down the slope in the bootleg mine in which he was working near Minersville. He has a possible fracture of the skull and hip, severe lacerations of the hand and arm, a broken upper left arm. The one hand is so badly crushed that partial amputation of the fingers will be made. The man was brought to the hospital by companions about 1 o’clock. COUNTY 4-H CLUB GIRLS WIN RIBBONS Schuylkill County is well represented in the exhibits at the State Farm Show in Harrisburg, the 4-H groups having a number of entries in the Room Improvement Classes, as well as in other classifications. In the Storage group, in Home Improvement Work, Class 81B, District Two, East, Kathleen CONWAY, of Pinegrove R.D.2, was first; Arlene BINKLEY, Pinegrove R.D. 2, third; Lois MOYER, Valley View, fourth, and Anna LONG, of Pingrove R.D., fourth. In Class 83B, the Sleeping group, June DENRICH, Piegrove, R.D., took a second place, and Florence FARRELL, Pinegrove R.D., a fourth place. In the Dressing Group, Class 84B, Dorothy BECKER, Pinegroove R.D. 2 took a second place; Gloria HOUTZ, third, and Anna WORKMAN, fourth, both being from Pinegrove R.D. In the General Display, Ruth HEPLER, of Lavelle, won a third place.
