CARBON Mr. and Mrs. William HOLTZER have taken up an apartment in Coatesville. Mr. Holtzer has been employed there for some time. Mrs. Mame ELLIS and Melda Jane BEDDALL observed their birthdays Thursday. Mrs. Arden LINK called on friends in Pottsville Tuesday evening. Mrs. Ray SCHRAEDLEY is still confined to her home. She is able to be downstairs. Mrs. Mary TURNICK and Mrs. George KOSLOW attended a dance held in Saint Clair. Mrs. Blodwyn STEVENS is on the sick list. Mrs. Carrie WINTERSTEIN is visiting in Washington. Mr. BRIGHTBILL is recuperating after a two weeks illness. Mrs. Fred COOPER shopped in Pottsville on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Amanda ALLISON is confiend to her home with a cold. Mrs. and Mrs. Russell AUMAN and son Richard, and Mrs. Tina AUMAN of Reading, visited relatives in Port Carbon Wednesday afternoon and evening. Miss Jane RANKIN is visiting her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. George RANKIN. Mrs. Mary HAARON returned to Bethlehem to her daughter, Mrs. George THORNBURG, who is still a patient in the Scared Heart Hospital in Allentown. Charles RUNKLE is a patient in the Fountain Springs Hospital. Serving Class was enjoyed Wednesday afternoon at Miss Gertrude MOODY’s with Miss Grace COOPER and Emma Jane EVERLY. Miss COOPER has knitted several beautiful sweaters for the Red. Cross. The meeting of the Port Carbon Woman’s republican club was held Tuesday evening. The prize of the evening went to Miss Lola ELLIS.
