May 16, 1961: NEW PRIEST CELEBRATES FIRST MASS "His mother, three brothers and three sisters join with Rev. Stephen L. Halabura at dinner in Allentown following ordination of new priest Saturday. MRS. WASSIL KOLTON and MRS. STANLEY STANALIS flew home Auf. 8 from a 10-wk tour of Poland...........................This was the first trip back to Poland for both women since they came to this country, Mrs. Stanalis in 1913, and Mrs. Kolton in 1922......." MRS. CLAYTON SEIGENFUSE-January 1964. Mrs. Pauline Seigenfuse of Washington St., Middleport, wife of Clayton Seigenfuse, died on Saturday at 1 a.m. in Pottsville Hospital. Mrs. Seigenfuse, stricken suddenly ill in her home on Friday evening, was admitted to the hospital at 9:30 P/M/ A lifelong resident of Middleport, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Kilousky. She was a member of St. Bartholomew's Church in Brockton. Surviving are her husband, three sons and three daughters: Mrs. Anthony Yenelage of Reading, William and Joseph of Middleport, Delores and Robert both at home; and Mrs. Preston Wallace of Pottsville; six grandchildren, and these sisters and brothers: Mrs. Joseph Niadna of Middleport; Mrs. Frank Seyfert and Andrew both of Reading; George and Stephen Kilousky both of Bernville, and Joseph of Strausstown. Funeral from Schwab Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. JOHN NORKUS, Second Street, Middleport died at Pottsville Hospital Thursday. He had been ill for one week. Born in Middleport, Mr. Norkus was the son of the late Bartholomew and Anna (URBANAVAGE) Norkus. A capenter by trade he was employed by Snukis Building Contractors of New Phila. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, New Phila. Surviors include his wife, the former ANNA MELUSKY; two sons, Robert and Albert of the home, a brother Albert, Reading, and two sisters Mrs. Katherine Doughterty, New Phila, and Mrs. Julia Savitsky, Port Carbon. BLYTHE 1941 CLASS HOLDS 25TH REUNION "Blythe Twp. High School class of 1941 celebrated its 25th reunion with a dinner dance Saturday at Dalvet's Middleport. Introduction of first teachers, class officers, memebers and guests opened the program with prizes awarded. These were presided over by JAMES STUTZ, master of ceremonies. A brief service was held for members who have passed away. Dancing followed from 10 PM to 2 AM with music provided by PETE NESTER. A midnight snack was served. This class was the sixteenth to be graduated from Blythe. "Our American Way" was its theme. Class advisors were MARY GUERS and JACK SHIELDS. Red and white are the class colors with a red rose its class flower. Class motto was " Succeed-We-Can-We-Must" . Reunion committee was: MARIE DANSHAW YASENCHAK, chairman, JAMES STUTZ, master of ceremonies; MARGARET STUTZ COLEMAN, treasurer; MILDRED STENULIS TAYLOR, secretary; JANE CALABRESE GRANT, reservations; BETTY YAKUBOSKY SOHOLSY, PAULINE STEFANEK STUTZMAN, gifts; ANNA WASSEL SMETANA, VINCENT MATALAVAGE, decorations. " BLYTHE TWP. CLASS OF 1944 HOLDS REUNION "Blythe Twp. High class of 1944 held its 20th reunion at Holy Family hall, New Phila. The guests were the Rev. Joseph NEVERAUSKAS, of Sacred Heart Church, and the following teachers: ELIZABETH MCGARRITY, ISABELLA FRANCKS, MRS. MARGARET MALARKEY CANTWELL, and MR. GEORGE TUPPIE. The program opened with the welcome by JOHN FERNANDO. Father NEVERAUSKAS asked the invocation.A silent tribute was held for deased class memebers. Recipients of prizes were: ROBERT GANNON, traveling the longest distance; ANN ARLENE PITKUS MOHRMAN, longest married; CHARLES GUSTAS, having the youngest child; STANLEY BURKE, most recently married. The table centerpiece was an arrangement of red roses and white carnations, flanked with red and white candleabra. Committee memebers for the reunion were FRANCES CANFIELD PATTY, ANNA MARTIN ROGERS, RITA FERRENCE BORAN, DOLORES DELANY WELGO, JOHN FERNANDO and ANDREW SUSYLO.
