The Somerset Herald: (Somerset, Pa.) 1870-1936 September 1, 1875
At Girardville, Pa., August 23, 1875, Thomas Gwyther was most brutally and foully
murdered in his office by a man supposed to be William Love, for whom the
Commissioners of Schuylkill offer a reward o $500 and the brother of the murdered
man $100. Love is about 5 feet 9 inches high, yellow hair, gray eyes, a scar from a
burn on left side of the neck under the chin, a thin sharp nose and chin, light
mustache, coal marks on the back of his has hands; has had a compound fracture of
the arm that leaves a scar; weighs 140 to 150 pounds. Address, C. EBERLE,
